Landforms
This week we learned about landforms. We learned about mountains and that a group of mountains are called a mountain range. We learned about caves and that they are dark and can be very old. We learned about Volcanoes and that the red stuff that shoots out is called lava. A river is water that is moving. A lake is a body of water that is surrounded by land. An island is land that is surrounded by water. A bay is an inlet of water that has land on three sides, a peninusla is a piece of land that goes into the water and surrounded by water on three sides. A valley is the bottom of two hillls.

Story Elements of Mr. Pusskins
Characters: Mr. Pusskins, Little Whiskers and Emily
Setting: In a house, at night during the winter
Plot: Emily had a cat named Mr. Pusskins and they were happy. She told him that she had a surprise. It was a kitten named Little Whiskers. Mr. Pusskins was NOT happy. Little Whiskers was ruining ALL of Mr. Pusskins fun! ***One night a LOUD noise came from a room in the house. Emily thought it was Mr. Pusskins. She was upset with Mr. Pusskins--she made him go outside. Mr. Pusskins was sad. Little Whiskers knew what had happened and felt bad too. Little Whiskers helped Emily see what had really happened. Emily said sorry to Mr. Pusskins and they all became friends.

Resolution: Mr. Pusskins and Little Whiskers become friends and are happy!
Theme: Sometimes new things or people make us sad but with time everything will work out

The Uglified Ducky
We read the story the Uglified Ducky today in class. This week we have been learning about Story Elements.
Characters: The Uglified Ducky, The Ducky Family, Mr. Quack and the other Moose in the forrest
Setting: In the forest, near the pond
Plot: A moose fell a sleep near a ducks nest and a mother duck raised him as her own ducky. The uglified ducky could not do duck things and he felt sad.
Theme: The message of this story is that we must remember that everyone is beautiful even if they are different.
Rising action: He couldn't, waddle, he couldn't fly, he couldn't swim and he couldn't quack...
Climax: The uglified Ducky's Family left him and he ran into the Forrest.
Falling action: He went deeper into the forest and found animals that looked like him.
Resolution: He learned that he was not a ducky and that he was a moose!
